The Best Places for Photoshoots in Ottawa

As a professional photographer in Ottawa, I often get asked about the best places to take photos. The truth is, there are a lot of great locations for photoshoots in Ottawa! Whether you're looking for a scenic backdrop, an urban setting, or something in between, Ottawa has it all. In this blog post, I'll share some of my personal favourite locations for photoshoots in Ottawa.


1. Downtown Ottawa
Downtown Ottawa is a great place for photoshoots because there are so many different looks and feels you can achieve. For example, you can get some great photos with the Parliament Buildings as a backdrop, or you can explore the Byward Market area for a more urban feel. There are endless possibilities downtown, so it's definitely worth checking out!


2. Kanata Centrum Shopping Centre
Kanata Centrum is a great location for photoshoots because it has a lot of variety. You can get some great shots of the exterior of the mall, or you can explore the interior for a more intimate feel. There are also a lot of restaurants and cafes nearby if you need to take a break during your shoot.


3. Gatineau Park
Gatineau Park is one of my personal favorite locations for photoshoots because it's just so beautiful! There are so many different areas to explore, and the scenery is just stunning. If you're looking for a really scenic backdrop for your photos, Gatineau Park is definitely the place to go. 


4. Rideau Canal
The Rideau Canal is another great option for those looking for a scenic background for their photos. The canal itself is really pretty, and there are also a lot of good photo ops with the bridges and boats that cross it. If you want to add a bit of history to your photos, the Rideau Canal is definitely the place to go! 


5. Arboretum & Experimental Farm

The Arboretum & Experimental Farm are two great places to take photos if you're looking for something a little bit different. The Arboretum is perfect for nature lovers, as it's full of beautiful flowers and plants. The Experimental Farm is also really pretty, and it's perfect if you're looking for that classic farm feel. Either way, you're sure to get some great shots if you visit either of these locations!

6. National Gallery of Canada

The National Gallery of Canada is another great place to take photos if you're looking for something a little bit different. The Gallery itself is really pretty, and there are also a lot of good photo ops with the sculptures and art inside. If you want to add a bit of culture to your photos, the National Gallery is definitely the place to go!

7. Byward Market

Byward Market is perfect if you're looking for an urban setting for your photos. There are lots of different shops and restaurants that make great props, and there's always something going on so there's never a dull moment! If you're looking to add some city flair to your photos, Byward Market is definitely the place to go!

8. Confederation Boulevard Confederation Boulevard is perfect if you're looking for an urban setting for your photos . This long stretch of road has everything from government buildings to popular tourist attractions , so there 's sure to be something that catches your eye ! If you 're looking to add some city flair to your photos , Confederation Boulevardis definitely the place to go!

9 . Major ’ s Hill Park

Major 's Hill Park is another great place to take photos if you' re looking for something a little bit different . The park is really pretty , and there are also a lot of good photo ops with the view of downtown the panorama of Parliament Hill .If you want to adda bit of nature to your photos , Major's Hill Park is definitely the place to go!

10. Sparks Street

Sparks Street is another great place to take photos if you're looking something a little bit different . This tiny Pedestrian Street has lots of different shops and restaurants that make great props ,and there's always something going on so corner will never be boring! If you want to add a bit of sparkle to your photos Sparks Street is definitely the place to go. 

Ottawa is a great city for photographers because it offers the best of both worlds :natural beauty and urban charm . With so many different places to choose from you're sure to find the perfect location for your next photo shoot in Ottawa!
